Micah 7:1-7 "Looking For Light"
We live in a world full of evil, brokenness, pain, and suffering. That is true today, and it was true in Micah’s day. What the passage today shows us is that Micah is keenly aware of the level of darkness in his society, and he is acknowledging that fact while also warning his audience about it. But, Micah doesn’t just leave there; he ends the passage on a note of hope; the remedy to living in a dark world: looking to God. As such, this passage does a great job of showing us how we are called to live in the midst of this dark world, how we are to look for light: we must pray; and we must pray in order to lament its darkness and to look to God for light.
