Micah 5:1-15 "The Ruler From Bethlehem"
When we think about Old Testament messianic prophecies, books like Isaiah, Jeremiah, and even Psalms come to mind. One name that probably doesn’t come to mind is Micah. However, we can see that Micah 5 contains a very direct messianic prophecy as it tells us that the promised Messiah will be a ruler born in Bethlehem. He is prophesying that the coming Messiah is the promised Davidic king who will rule on David’s throne for all eternity. So, what does this mean for us? Well, it has several implications for us: it means we can be assured God’s Word is true, we can have the hope that Jesus’ second coming will occur just as His first one did, and we can rely on Him to lead us, guide us, and direct us.
