1 John 4:1-6 "Truth And Error"

EDIT: I wanted to clarify something I said in this sermon. I made the comment, "If you think Jesus is a liar or a lunatic, you're not a Christian, please get out of my church." In saying this, I was speaking specifically about those who fashion themselves as preachers, teachers, or leaders who teach that Jesus isn't the only way to heaven. We absolutely do want people with wrong beliefs in church so that they can learn the truth; but false teachers have no place in the church. With that said:

False teaching and false doctrine is not just a 1st century problem, it has always been, and continues to be a problem; and it is up to us, as believers, to combat these false teachings with the Truth of God’s Word.   And, if we are going to do that, if we are going to combat false doctrine by testing the spirits, we must know and embrace true doctrine; we must call out false doctrine, and those who teach it, when we encounter it, and we must do these things in order to combat the specific false teachings prevalent in our society today.  So, let’s dive into the passage together.
