This week, we are looking at the story of the angel announcing Jesus' birth to the shepherds, the shepherds visiting the baby Jesus, and then spreading the word about all that they had heard and seen. As we look at this passage, we will see how Jesus’ birth fulfilled God’s plan for the world and how His birth was also a foreshadowing of what would come in His ministry, death, and resurrection. Then, we will look at what our responsibility is in light of the fact that we know God’s plan WILL come to fruition just as He sees fit. We are going to take a closer look at our passage and understand how the birth of Jesus both fulfilled God’s plan up to that point and was the catalyst for the continuation of God’s plan moving forward; and how we can use that knowledge to spur us to go out into the world and share that good news with everyone we possibly can.
