In 2 John, John is addressing one of the specific churches under his care to warn them about false teachers and to remind them of the command to love one another. As such, this letter is an excellent source of strength to deal with internal threats in the church today as it teaches that we must protect against attacks, and we must do it with truth and love. Specifically, we must know and follow right doctrine, we must fiercely guard the message of Christ, and we must know when to draw a line in the sand and remove people from our fellowship.
